Cosmetic Care
Imperfections in your smile can leave you unconfident and uncomfortable with your smile, but with the proper cosmetic care your smile can become your source of confidence. We offer a wide range of cosmetic care to help improve and restore those imperfections and have smiling with confidence.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding involves the application of tooth-colored composite resin. Our dentist uses this material to cover up and conceal cracks, hairline cracks, discoloration, and other cosmetic imperfections to improve the look of the tooth and, in some cases, also add a layer of strength and protection to the tooth. Dental bonding can change the shape of a tooth to make it longer, wider, or more uniform. Dental bonding usually needs replacing every five to seven years. It doesn't require the removal of natural tooth enamel either, which means it's completly reversible.
Glo Teeth Whitening
Glo is one of the first teeth whitening systems that uses the professional elements of gentle heat and blue LED light. Unlike other whitening solutions that involve messy strips or runny gels, GLO uses professional-strength 10% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel that’s specially designed to stay in place without the need for custom trays. It can be done in the office and only takes 16 minutes, and like its competitors, in most cases, it does not cause sensitivity or dry out the teeth. It is a gentle, effective way to have a brighter, whiter smile. We offer in-office bleaching as well as take-home options for our patients' comfort and convenience.
Veneers
Made of medical-grade ceramic, porcelain veneers are thin, strong shells that adhere to the front surfaces of your teeth. Like dental bonding, veneers can conceal a wide range of cosmetic flaws, including chips, cracks, and discoloration. All veneers require at least some removal of natural enamel, which means they could be reversible depending on each case and how much enamel our dentist needs to remove for the veneer. In most cases, porcelain veneers need replacing every 10 years or so.
Invisalign
Invisalign is a type of thin, clear aligner used in orthodontic treatment. The aligner is made from a flexible thermoplastic material named SmartTrack. Invisalign can be used for various purposes, including crowding and spacing issues, and mild to moderate bite issues. The first step in the process involves a visit to our office, where our dentist will create a 3-D image of your mouth and jaw. This image will be used to develop a plan for moving your teeth into their proper place. Our dentist will then use that plan to create a series of customized plastic aligners. These aligners will apply pressure to your teeth, gradually shifting them into the desired positions. Depending on our dentist’s instructions, you’ll switch out one set of aligners for a new set about once every week or two. Typically, you’ll need to wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, and depending on the case, the trays may need to be worn for up to a year. For Invisalign to work effectively, it’s important to wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. The only times it’s recommended to remove the aligners are when you’re eating or drinking, brushing or flossing your teeth, or cleaning your aligners. Invisalign may be a good option for you if you don’t have a complicated bite or crowding issue and you’d prefer a less visible treatment than braces. Talk with our dentist about your teeth, the type of orthodontic treatment you may need, and whether Invisalign is a good option for you.
